What are odds?

All events have odds, which are used to calculate the winnings you receive if your bet is successful. The math is simple: multiply the odds by the bet amount.

Let’s look at an example of a Arsenal FC vs. Chelsea FC match.

The odds are:

  • Arsenal FC to win - odds = 1.5,
  • Draw - odds = 4.5,
  • Chelsea FC to win - odds = 5.8

You bet €10 on Arsenal FC, and they win. This means you’ll get 10 x 1.5 = €15.

The higher the odds, the less likely the outcome is to happen. If it does happen, you'll receive a higher payout.

What is a betting market?

Betting markets refer to the different categories of wagers or bets you can place on an event.

What are the most loved betting markets?

Winnerz has over 6500 different markets to bet on, so if you don’t know where to start, choosing some of the most popular ones is a safe bet! Let’s have a look:

Match Betting 1X2

1X2 lets you place a bet on the outcome of an event.
Usually, 1 is the Home team’s win, X is a draw, and 2 is the Away team’s win. You can bet on any of these 3 outcomes.

Double Chance

A Double Chance bet lets you place a bet on 2 outcomes of the same match. As it is tied to Match Betting (1X2), these are the possible combinations you can bet on:

  • 1X - Home team wins, or it’s a draw
  • 12 - Either of the two teams wins
  • X2 - Away team wins, or it’s a draw

Totals (Over/Under)

Totals refer to betting on the number of goals, points, corners, etc. that occur in a match.

Let’s look at an example: You place a bet for Over 3.5 goals, and the match ends 3-1. You win because 4 goals were scored.

Handicap

A handicap can be like a head start (if positive) or a disadvantage (if negative). There is no handicap if it’s marked as 0.

Let’s see an example: In Arsenal FC vs. Chelsea FC, you bet on Arsenal FC to win with a -2 handicap. In your bet, Arsenal FC starts the game with -2 goals, so they have to win by at least 3 goals for your bet to win.

Player Markets

Player markets let you place bets on an individual player

As an example, Peyton Watson to score 11 points or more in the Denver Nuggets’ game against the Phoenix Suns.

What types of bets can I place?

Bets come in all shapes and sizes, but there are 3 main types you can start with:

Single bet

A bet made on 1 outcome of any event for any type of market. This bet can be won, lost, or, in some cases, returned.

As an example, you can bet on the New York Knicks to win in their match with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Combo bet

A Combo bet, also known as accumulator or parlay, means betting on several events and outcomes in the same bet slip. You win if ALL the bets made are winning. If you lose just one of them, then the whole combo bet is lost.

This type of betting usually gets increased odds because they multiply each other. Let’s look at an example:

You place a €10 combo bet on:

  • Arsenal FC to win in their match vs. Chelsea FC - odds = 1.45
  • Sheffield United to win in their match vs. Manchester United - odds = 7.6

The odds are multiplied - 1.45 x 7.6 = 11.02. If the outcomes happen as predicted, then you win 10 x 11.02 = €110,2.

System bet

A system bet allows you to group several bets of equal value together, multiplying their odds between each other. It differs from a Combo bet because if 1 bet loses and the others win, you won’t lose the whole wager. However, the total winnings amount will depend on how many of your bets win or lose.

Multiple combinations are available for a system bet: 2/3, 2/4, 3/4, etc. In 2/3, 2 shows how matches are grouped and 3 shows the total number of matches you bet on. The same logic applies to all other combinations.

Let’s look at a €10 2/3 system bet example:

  • Los Angeles Lakers to win in Denver Nuggets vs. Lakers - odds = 3.35
  • Chelsea to win in Chelsea vs. Fulham - odds = 1.45
  • Draw in Everton vs. Sheffield United - odds = 2.50

Your 3 bets of €10 will be grouped in pairs of 2, with 3 possible combinations. So if the Lakers and Chelsea win, but Everton and Sheffield don’t draw, 1 of your bets succeed.

You lose €20 for the two lost game pairs, but you get €48.57 for the remaining bet - €10 x (1.45 x 3.35), leaving you with a €18.57 profit.

Bet-builder

The bet builder is another bet combination possibility, focused on just one event. Your odds are multiplied by each selection you add to your betslip.

As an example, you bet on Spain to win (odds 1.30) against Georgia + Over 9.5 corners occurred (odds 1.90) in the game. The odds total up to 2.47.

What are my betting options?

Pre-match bet

You can bet on an event before it takes place, giving you time to make an informed decision.

We have 370,000+ pre-match events to choose from!

Live bet

You can place bets while the event is happening, which allows you to make decisions based on how the event is going.

We have roughly 50,000+ live betting events per month.

Ending a bet

Bets are considered finished when all events tied to them are over.

In Single and Combo bets, you can settle a bet before an event is over. This is known as cashing out, which lets you secure your winnings or minimise your losses. The cash-out amount will depend on when you choose to do this during the event.

What kind of Sportsbook bonuses can I expect?

Free bet

A free bet is a bonus with a predefined amount of money that you can use to place a bet.

There are 3 types of free bets:

Standard Freebet

Standard free bets are placed without using your account funds. Only the net amount won is transferred to your balance.

For example: you place a standard free bet of €5 with odds of 3.5, and it wins. This means you’ll get (5 x 3.5) - 5 = €12.50.

Real Money Freebet

For this type of bet, you receive the stake and the winnings.

For example: you place a €5 real money free bet with odds of 3.5, and it wins. This means you’ll get 5 x 3.5  = €17.50.

Risk-free Bet

The bet amount will be taken from your account. If the bet wins, the bet is settled as usual according to the odds. However, the bet amount is returned to your balance in the event of a loss.

Here’s an example: You place a €5 risk-free bet with 3.5 odds. If you win, you get €17.5; if you lose, you get €5 back.
